How to search by code accurately
A code is the shortest path on this site: it's unique, never shared, and unaffected by translated titles. This guide covers case, hyphens, and what to do when nothing comes up.
When you're looking for one specific title, the code is always the fastest route. Titles get translated in many ways, performers have aliases, studios have abbreviations — only the code is unique.
How to type it
- Case doesn't matter:
mida-762andMIDA-762are the same query. - The hyphen is optional:
MIDA762works too. An extra space in the middle works as well. - A prefix alone works: type
MIDAto get titles under that code prefix. To see all of them, go to the code prefix index.
Three reasons you might find nothing
- One character is wrong.
0vsOand1vsIare the two most common mix-ups — try swapping them. - The title really isn't in our database. See What we index and takedowns for our coverage.
- You searched a series name, not a code. For example, a word from a title — that kind of query works better in site search, which matches titles, performers, series and tags.
The address bar on the results page is the query itself. Once your filters are set, just send the link to someone — they'll see the same results.
